ICBC’s New Insurance System Update May Cause Delays
Starting September 11, 2016, Autoplan brokers throughout B.C. began using ICBC’s new insurance sales system. This is the single biggest renewal in their history, replacing technology that is more than 30 years old.
As with any complex project of this size, it will take time for Autoplan brokers and ICBC staff to become comfortable with the new system, so there may be delays during the transition.

What can customers do?
To help ensure delays are kept to a minimum, we encourage you to:
- Visit your Schill Autoplan broker a few days before your policy expires
- Allow for extra time at your broker’s office
- Ensure you have all the required documents with you before visiting your broker.
Why did ICBC introduce a new insurance sales system?
The old system was more than 30 years old and was not meeting the changing insurance needs of over 3 million customers. The new system will help Autoplan brokers better serve customers and will allow for easier implementation of products and services in the future.
