  • Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience

About the Opportunity

Schill Insurance is looking for an experienced Manager, Strata Insurance Division.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Commercial, the Manager will be accountable for driving sales and leading team members who provide expert products and services to our clients.

The position will include developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures and executing strategies for growth.  The Strata Insurance Manager will work with team members and Senior Management to ensure necessary knowledge and tools are provided to sell and service our extensive group of property managers and individual strata clientele.  They will also support the activities of team members making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and conduct regular team meetings.

This position will work closely with the leadership team to ensure monthly new business and renewal retention targets are achieved and file audits and other compliance tasks are completed.  The Manager, Strata Insurance will actively participate in projects with other departments as needed to develop and implements new programs within the organization.

Qualifications

About You

  • Preference for 7 years of Commercial Insurance experience, including Strata and Residential Realty, with 2 years of management in a customer-centric and sales-focused environment
  • Experience with Claims an asset
  • Passionate about the growth and development of employees, building productive and trusted relationships with clients and team members at all levels
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; persuasive and authentic; ability to translate technical terminology into business language
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and
  • EPIC experience an asset
  • Strong business acumen, numerate and data-driven
  • Level 2 BC Insurance license required

Responsibilities

  • Review insurance risk submissions and assess their suitability for coverage
  • Identify and select appropriate insurance carriers to receive quotes

  • Communicate with account managers to provide updates on the quote process and answer any questions they may have
  • Act as a liaison between account managers and insurance carriers to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Keeps current on new products, coverage, and market

Qualifications

About You

  • Minimum 3 years of related industry experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and services
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Epic and Policy Works an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Level 2 General Insurance License
